Mastering the Art of Everyday Success: The Crucial Skill You Need to Win in Life
One Skill to Develop if you want to win everyday life.
One crucial skill to develop is the ability to discern the true intentions of others. Jesus exemplified this discernment by exposing the deceit of spies and challenging the King’s inquiries regarding taxes. With profound understanding of their hearts and agendas, Jesus skillfully prompted them to show him a coin and identify Caesar’s image upon it. In doing so, he provided a clear distinction between what belongs to God and what does not. He guided them to give to Caesar what is his and to give to God what is His, thereby imparting a valuable lesson.
In our own lives, it is essential that we possess the wisdom to discern the intentions of others. As followers of Christ, we should aspire to be wise in our interactions, taking our cue from the Holy Spirit’s guidance. A wonderful example can be found in the book of Luke, specifically in chapter 20, verses 1 to 47, where Jesus encountered the questioning of Pharisees, priests, and elders. Despite their attempts to entrap him with cleverly crafted queries, Jesus remained composed, answering with wisdom and truth. Likewise, we ought to seek discernment from God and request His guidance in choosing our words wisely and in a timely manner.
The Scriptures also emphasize the importance of being slow to speak. This means allowing ourselves a moment of reflection and seeking God’s wisdom before responding. By cultivating active listening and restraint in our speech, we can effectively discern the truth and navigate situations with greater understanding. Let us strive to emulate Jesus’ discerning heart and unwavering preparedness to answer those who challenge us. May we always seek God’s discernment and ask for His guidance in choosing the right words, at the right time, in every circumstance.
